In John 2:13-17, Jesus became angry over what he saw happening in the temple. I wonder, would it be much different today? (All thoughts and rememberances are the opinion of the blog author.)
Hymns are not the only form of hard-hitting, teaching, convicting music. Also, it's hard for non-Christians to connect to it.
I agree that some choruses are sound and inspiring, but some are not. But this is true of hymns as well. I think the main thing is to make sure that they are sound teaching, and not that they necessarily have to tie in with the day's message. And while I agree it is important that people be able to connect, my main concern would be that we connect to the truth. I have heard some "updated" versions of hymns that are very powerful. But I have also heard some very powerful choruses. I love the music of Third Day for instance. Thanks for visiting!
